A meatus is any opening leading to the inner part of the body. For now, let’s talk about the most underrated meatus of the body, the ears. The external acoustic meatus is a bony canal for the ear canal, a tube running from the outer ear to the middle ear. The adult human ear canal extends from the pinna to the eardrum and has to do with 2.5 centimeters in length and 0.7 centimeters in diameter.
